What Days From Today does
This calculator answers one question: what date is a given number of days from today? It opens on the current date in your own time zone with 30 days filled in, so the answer is on screen before you touch anything. Change the number, switch Days to Weeks, or set the direction to Ago to look backwards. Under the result is a chart of 7, 14, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 180 and 365 days both ahead of and behind the starting date. Today counts as day 0, so 1 day ahead is tomorrow, and weekends and holidays are counted like any other day.
How the weekday shifts for common day counts
Divide the number of days by 7. The whole weeks do not change the weekday; the remainder moves it forward. This holds for any starting date.
| Days ahead | Weeks and days | Weekday moves forward by | If you start on a Monday |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 | 1 week | 0 | Monday |
| 14 | 2 weeks | 0 | Monday |
| 28 | 4 weeks | 0 | Monday |
| 30 | 4 weeks and 2 days | 2 | Wednesday |
| 45 | 6 weeks and 3 days | 3 | Thursday |
| 60 | 8 weeks and 4 days | 4 | Friday |
| 90 | 12 weeks and 6 days | 6 | Sunday |
| 120 | 17 weeks and 1 day | 1 | Tuesday |
| 180 | 25 weeks and 5 days | 5 | Saturday |
| 365 | 52 weeks and 1 day | 1 | Tuesday |
Counting backwards moves the weekday the other way: 30 days ago from a Monday was a Saturday.
30, 60 and 90 days after the 1st of each month in 2027
Each row is a real result with Counting from set to the 1st of that month. It shows how month lengths pull the answer away from a simple one, two or three months later.
| Counting from | 30 days later | 60 days later | 90 days later |
|---|---|---|---|
| January 1, 2027 | Sunday, January 31 | Tuesday, March 2 | Thursday, April 1 |
| February 1, 2027 | Wednesday, March 3 | Friday, April 2 | Sunday, May 2 |
| March 1, 2027 | Wednesday, March 31 | Friday, April 30 | Sunday, May 30 |
| April 1, 2027 | Saturday, May 1 | Monday, May 31 | Wednesday, June 30 |
| May 1, 2027 | Monday, May 31 | Wednesday, June 30 | Friday, July 30 |
| June 1, 2027 | Thursday, July 1 | Saturday, July 31 | Monday, August 30 |
| July 1, 2027 | Saturday, July 31 | Monday, August 30 | Wednesday, September 29 |
| August 1, 2027 | Tuesday, August 31 | Thursday, September 30 | Saturday, October 30 |
| September 1, 2027 | Friday, October 1 | Sunday, October 31 | Tuesday, November 30 |
| October 1, 2027 | Sunday, October 31 | Tuesday, November 30 | Thursday, December 30 |
| November 1, 2027 | Wednesday, December 1 | Friday, December 31 | Sunday, January 30, 2028 |
| December 1, 2027 | Friday, December 31 | Sunday, January 30, 2028 | Tuesday, February 29, 2028 |
From the 1st of a 31-day month, 30 days later is the 31st. From the 1st of a 30-day month it is the 1st of the next month, and from February 1 it is March 3, or March 2 in a leap year.
Worked examples with a fixed starting date
These use a named starting date so the answers never go stale. Set Counting from to the same date to reproduce them.
A 30-day return window
Number 30; Unit Days; Direction From today (after); Counting from October 13, 2026
Thursday, November 12, 2026 (ISO 2026-11-12). Tuesday moves 2 days later in the week, and the span holds 22 weekdays.
A 90-day probation period
Number 90; Unit Days; Direction From today (after); Counting from October 13, 2026
Monday, January 11, 2027 (ISO 2027-01-11), with 64 weekdays in the span.
Three calendar months from the same start would be January 13, two days later.
Six weeks ahead
Number 6; Unit Weeks; Direction From today (after); Counting from January 1, 2026
Thursday, February 12, 2026. Total days 42, the same weekday as the start.
28 days across a leap day
Number 28; Unit Days; Direction From today (after); Counting from February 1, 2024
Thursday, February 29, 2024. From February 1, 2023 the same count gives Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Looking back 30 days
Number 30; Unit Days; Direction Ago (before); Counting from March 31, 2027
Monday, March 1, 2027, 2 days earlier in the week than the Wednesday you started on.
A year of days
Number 365; Unit Days; Direction From today (after); Counting from January 15, 2028
Sunday, January 14, 2029, one day short of the anniversary because February 29, 2028 is inside the span.
The rule for finding a date N days ahead by hand
Result = starting date + N calendar days. Weekday shift = N mod 7. Days left in the starting month = month length - day number.
Subtract the days left in the current month from N, then keep subtracting whole months until what remains fits inside a month; that remainder is the day number. For 45 days after March 1: March has 30 days left after the 1st, leaving 15, so the answer is April 15. For the weekday, 45 mod 7 is 3, so it is three weekdays later than the start. The calculator does the same count on the calendar, so leap days are included without any adjustment.
Days, months and business days are three different counts
A deadline written as "within 30 days" is a count of calendar days, which is what this page returns. A deadline written as "within one month" lands on the same day number in the following month and can be 28, 29, 30 or 31 days away. Six months is 181 to 184 days, so 180 days is always a few days short of half a year.
Neither is the same as business days. Thirty calendar days contain 20, 21 or 22 Monday-to-Friday days depending on the weekday you start from, and the Weekdays in the span figure shows which. It does not remove public holidays, because they differ by country. If your deadline is written in working days, use the business days tool instead, and if you need to add months or years, use the add or subtract days tool, which handles month ends.
Some rules count the starting day as day 1, and some move a deadline that lands on a weekend to the next working day. The calculator does neither, so check the wording of the contract, notice or statute you are working from.
