What this site is

PlainToolbox is a growing collection of small, focused utilities — calculators, converters, text tools, developer helpers, colour and CSS builders, and generators. Each one does a single job well, loads instantly, and asks nothing of you in return.

Who runs PlainToolbox

PlainToolbox is built and maintained by Ajay Kanani, a software developer. Every tool is written, tested and kept up to date by one person, which is why the pages stay small, fast and free of clutter. You can reach me directly at ajaykanani018@gmail.com or through the contact page.

How the tools are checked

Conversion tools use published fixed definitions, such as SI units and the international pound, rather than rounded approximations. Where a calculation has more than one convention, for example whether an end date is included or whether a year has 365 days, the page says which one it uses. Tools that run entirely in your browser can be tested with your own numbers before you rely on them.

If you find a wrong result, please email it with the input you used. Fixes are made directly, and where a page shows a Last reviewed date it is updated when the content changes.

How it works

Every tool runs as JavaScript inside your own browser. When you paste text into the JSON formatter or type figures into the EMI calculator, that data is processed on your device and then discarded. There is no backend, no database and no request carrying your input anywhere.

The practical benefits are speed and privacy. There is no network round trip, so results appear as fast as you can type — and because nothing is transmitted, you can safely work with API responses, tokens or personal figures.

How it stays free

The site is funded by advertising. Ads are placed around the content rather than inside the tool you are using, and space is reserved for them in advance so the page never jumps around while you are typing. There are no interstitials, no pop-ups and no email capture.

Built to grow

Behind the scenes, every tool is defined as a small configuration object describing its inputs, its logic and its documentation. A shared engine turns that definition into the page you see, which is why every tool has the same layout, the same keyboard shortcuts and the same copy and download buttons. New tools are added regularly.
