Quick answers

How do I generate a business name from a keyword?
Type the word in the Keyword field, pick a style and press Generate. Every name in the list contains your word, either joined to an ending (BloomLabs) or between a describing word and an ending (Urban Bloom Group).
How many names can I get from one keyword?
Up to 160 different names per keyword: 10 in the Modern & short style and 150 in the Descriptive style. Each run returns at most 50, so press Generate again to see others. Asking for more than 10 modern names with a keyword still returns 10.
Does the generator check if the business name is available?
No. It does not search trademarks, company registers, domains or social handles. A suggested name may already be in use. Check each shortlisted name yourself before you print, register or buy anything.
Can I generate business names without a keyword?
Yes. Leave Keyword empty and the tool picks from 15 root words such as Bloom, Forge, Harbor, Grove, Peak and Spark. That gives 150 possible modern names and 2,250 possible descriptive names.
Is it free and do I need an account?
It is free and there is no sign-up or email step. The names are generated in your browser, and you can copy the whole list or download it as business-names.txt.
Is this an AI business name generator?
No. It combines your keyword with fixed word lists using two patterns. It will not read a description of your business or invent new words. Every result is your keyword plus one or two ordinary English words.

What Business Name Generator does

Give the tool one keyword and it builds business name ideas by attaching it to a fixed set of naming words. The Modern & short style joins your keyword to an ending such as Co, Labs, Studio or Works, giving names like BloomStudio. The Descriptive style puts a describing word in front and an ending after, giving names like Bright Bloom Supply. Leave the keyword blank and a root word such as Forge, Harbor or Grove is used instead. This is a pattern-based brainstorming list, not an AI naming service: it draws on 15 describing words, 15 root words and 10 endings, and it does not check trademarks, company registers or domains. Use it to get candidates quickly, then clear the ones you like.

The words the generator combines

Every name is built from these three lists. Your keyword takes the place of the root word.

A list never repeats a name. If you ask for more names than a setting can produce, you get every possible name and no more.

Choosing a keyword that gives usable names

Use one short word. The keyword is inserted exactly as typed with only its first letter capitalised, so a two-word entry such as green tea becomes Green teaWorkshop in the modern style. The Descriptive style keeps the space but not the second capital, giving names like North Green tea House, so enter Tea or Greentea instead.

Concrete nouns work better than descriptions of what you sell. A material, place, object or feeling (Cedar, Harbor, Ember, Kind) gives names that still fit if the product range changes, while a literal product word such as Phones can box the business in.

Try three or four keywords and compare the lists side by side. The endings carry meaning of their own: Studio and Workshop suggest hands-on or creative work, Labs suggests technology or experiments, Supply and Market suggest retail, and Co, Group and Collective are neutral.

Checklist before you commit to a business name

The generator stops at ideas. Work through these checks for every name on your shortlist.

  1. Say it aloud and spell it over the phone. If people need it repeated or spelled twice, keep looking.
  2. Search the exact name and close spellings online to see who already uses it in your field and area.
  3. Search the trademark register for your country, for example USPTO in the United States, UKIPO in the United Kingdom or EUIPO for the European Union, in the classes that cover your goods or services.
  4. Check your company or business register, since most will not accept a name identical or very close to an existing one. In the United States this is done state by state.
  5. Look up the domain name and the social handles you plan to use, and decide whether a variation is acceptable.
  6. Check the meaning of the name in the languages your customers speak.
  7. Ask a few people outside the business what they think the company does from the name alone.

Modern joined names versus descriptive names

A joined name such as PixelCo or BloomLabs is short, fits on a small logo and usually maps directly to a domain name. Its weakness is that keyword-plus-ending names are common, so the exact match may already be registered by someone else.

A three-word descriptive name such as Golden Pixel Studio tells people more about the kind of business and suits shops, studios, trades and local services. It is longer to type and the matching domain is longer too, but it is easier to find a version nobody else is using.

Mixed style picks one of the two patterns for each name, which is the quickest way to see both shapes with your keyword before narrowing down.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my list stop at 10 names?
With a keyword and the Modern & short style there are only ten endings to attach, so ten names is the full set. Switch to Descriptive or Mixed to get up to 50 per run from the same keyword.
Can I use more than one keyword?
The field is designed for a single word. Extra words are kept as typed and joined to the ending, which looks awkward in the modern style. Run the generator once per keyword and combine the lists yourself.
Can I generate names for a specific industry?
There is no industry menu. Steer the results with the keyword: use a word from your trade, such as Oak for furniture or Ledger for bookkeeping. The endings Studio, Labs, Supply, Market and Workshop then add the business flavour.
Are the generated names free to use?
The tool places no restriction on them, but that does not make a name legally available. Another business may hold rights to the same or a similar name, so the trademark and register checks still apply.
Can I get the same list again later?
Not on demand. Each press of Generate makes a new random selection, so copy or download any list you want to keep before generating again.
Does it suggest invented words or names ending in -ly or -ify?
No. Every name is your keyword or a root word plus one of ten whole-word endings. It does not blend syllables, drop vowels or add suffixes such as -ly, -ify or -io.
What makes a good business name?
It is easy to say and spell, distinct from competitors in your market, not misleading about what you do, and available as a trademark, registered name and web address. Short names are easier to remember, but clarity matters more than length.
Should my business name include what I sell?
It helps local and trade businesses be understood at a glance, which is where the descriptive style fits. If you expect to expand beyond one product, a broader word gives you more room than a literal one.
